MONARCH GARDEN MARKER—

The Milano Monarch Butterfly Garden marker reveal and its naming as a Certifed Waystation took place on Oct. 23 at the Milano Junction Memorial Garden in downtown Milano, next to the town’s post office. The event took place at the Texas Native Plant Week celebration on Oct. 23. Over 25 community and members attended the celebration and observed more than a dozen butterflies, caterpillars and many other pollinators present. This community project was sponsored by the El Camino Real Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists and with caring community organizations in support of the garden. Pictured are commitee members (l-r) Donna Lewis, Martha Newman, Sandra Dworaczyk and Debbi Harris. Not pictured, Katherine Bedrich.
