Tr ick-or-treat guidelines set for Thursday

Thursday is Halloween and the Rockdale Parent Teacher Organization (P-TO) has issued its annual recommendations for young ghosts-n-goblins.

Cheryl Blackstock, PTO president, says the group recommends trickor treating between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m.

And, since the holiday is mostly for kids, it’s hoped the self-enforced age limits can be realistic.

“Sixth-grade and under sounds about right,” Blackstock said.

Police urge extra caution during those hours, noting that increased foot traffic and sight-impairing costumes could present traffic hazards.

Also, a number of churches are planning Trunk ‘n Treat events. See Faith page, 4B.

P-TO fall fest slated Friday

The Rockdale P-TO’s annual fall festival is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the intermediate campus.

Activities include games, candy, prizes, food, a cake walk and silent auction.

There will be a costume contest at 7 p.m.

Games can be played by purchasing four tickets for one dollar.

Funds raised go to support the P-TO’s activities. “Thank you for supporting the elementary and intermediate schools,” Cheryl Blackstock, P-TO president, said.
