Baptist youth to host fall carnival Saturday at church
A reminder about the community wide fall festival Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Gause Baptist Church Family Life Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a hayride. There will be games, food and there will be a costume contest for the little ones. (No scary costumes, please.) This is a fundraiser for the youth group of the church who will be going on a mission trip to Tennessee next summer. Come out and support the youth of our community.
The Sugarloaf Mountain Historical Marker Dedication was well attended this past Saturday. Very nice program. Good to see so many people come and be a part of this ceremony. If you were unable to attend do go out and see the nice marker.
I’m a little behind in my travels. This was the first time I have been that direction since the new bridge across the river was built and I still didn’t go across the new bridge. I need to get out more.
Gause Community Improvement program will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4 in the Gause Community Center. Gause 4-H Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 in the Gause ISD cafeteria. They will be making “thank you” cards for our area veterans and will present them to the veterans who attend the annual Veterans Day Program at the Gause ISD on Nov. 11. All interested youth of the community are invited to join the Gause 4-H Club.
Our sincere sympathy to Melissa Turnage and family at the loss of her aunt Betty Anderson.
The last soccer games for the season will be played in Cameron on Saturday.
Gause Junior High boys and girls basketball teams are starting practices. The first game will be at Harmony Science Academy in Bryan on Nov. 19. The next game on the schedule right now is Brazos Christian here on Dec. 5. If there is any changes in scheduling I’ll will try to let you know.
