Mr. Castillo Mr. Castillo Seferino “Pete” Castillo, 90, of Rockdale died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013.

Visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, w ith the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F Cemetery.

Mr. Castillo was born Aug. 26, 1923, in Tracy to Raymond and Guadalupe Castillo.

Af ter at tending school in Sharp, he enlisted in the U. S. Army, where he served during World War II.

After completing his service, Mr. Castillo moved to Rockdale, where he married Leona Garza, whom he spent 61 years with.

Mr. Castillo had a successful career at Alcoa, retiring after 34 years.

After his retirement, he started a lawn care business, which was a favorite pastime when he was not drinking coffee with the regulars at McDonald’s, enjoying his patio or reading his Bible. He also enjoyed dining out and always welcomed something sweet.

Mr. Castillo was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leona Garza Castillo of Rockdale; and a sister, Mary Montoya of Rockdale.

Survivors are two children, Olivia Castillo Johnson and husband Roland of Fort Worth, Robert Castillo and wife Olga of Rockdale; and two sisters, Elisa Aldama and Concepcion Lopez; also, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and countless extended family members and friends.
