Reporter/Mike Brown Reporter/Mike Brown More than 1,500 persons, including virtually every student in the Rockdale ISD’s four campuses, turned out Monday to honor more than 50 veterans and their spouses in the district’s annual community-wide Veterans Day rally at Tiger Field. In foreground, elementary fine arts students, led by Karen Laughlin, wave their homemade flags and sing to the veterans, seated on the track. Guest speaker Vietnam veteran, and former superintendent, Alton Field, said the United States is “the land of the free because it’s the home of the brave.” Also see pages 6A and 6C.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
