Milano Opry back on stage Saturday at MHS

The Milano Opry will hit the stage on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Milano High School. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Musical guests this month are 11-yar-old Abby Taylor of Houston, Emily McCoy of Rockdale, A.T. Shuffield and Michelle Swanson both of Cameron and Rian Castillo of Elgin.

The group will also have barbecue sandwiches by Steve Telg and hamburgers cooked by Pat Yakesch. And don’t forget about those yummy homemade pies. Proceeds from the Opry help raise money for our Milano grads.

House band members are Billy Barnett, Michael Wall, Ricky Blagg, Johnny Foster, Gary Beard, Lynn Martin and Donny White as emcee.

MHS Project Graduation will be taking poinset tia orders through Friday, Nov. 15. Four and a half inch pots, available in red only, are $5 each. Six and a half inch pots, available in red, white or pink flowers, are $10 each. Eight inch pots, with two red plants per pot, are $20 each. Contact any MHS senior or their parent to order.

Congratulations to the Milano Eagle football team and Lady Eagle volleyball team on making the playoffs. We enjoy watching them.
