No community Thanksgiving meal this year in Gause

I have word that there will not be a Community Thanksgiving dinner this year. However, we will be having the Community Thanksgiving worship service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24 at the Gause Baptist Church. If you or you know of someone who would like to bring special music let me know.

The Gause 4-H Club and Gause ISD students will be collecting food for the annual Community Thanksgiving Food Drive on Nov. 18-22. If you would like to be a part of the yearly community service activity you may take items to the school, bring items to me or call me and I can pick them up. These boxes of food is greatly appreciated by the families who receive them.

Gause ISD students presented a very inspiring program for our area veterans on Monday morning in the school gym. There was a very good turnout of our veterans, and a great turnout of community. Lois Wilkins spent the latter part of last week in La Porte with family.

Wanda and Alfred Coats and Sherri and James Rasco spent an enjoyable weekend in Abilene with relatives. They went especially at this time to attend a surprise 80th birthday party for Nell Coats.

On Monday, Nov. 18 the Milam County 4-Hers will be sponsoring their annual Holiday Gift Idea Exchange as members demonstrate craft and food items. The event will be held from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. at Bea’s Kitchen, 101 E. Main in Cameron. This is free to the public. Refreshments will be served and you will have a chance on receiving one of the items the 4-H members demonstrate.

Gause Junior High basketball teams have their first games at 5 p.m. Nov. 19 at Harmony Science Academy.

The next games are scheduled for 5 p.m. Dec. 5 here in Gause against Brazos Christian.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
