Thanksgiving worship service Sunday

We invite you all to the annual communi t y Thanksgiving worship serviceat6 p.m.Sunday,Nov. 24 at Gause Baptist Church. If you would like to bring some special music please come and share.

A reminder that the Gause 4-H Club and Gause ISD students are collecting food for the annual community Thanksgiving food drive. If you could help with this community service activity it will be appreciated. You may take items to the school or to me and if need be I can pick them up from you. The food will be distributed within the community before Thanksgiving.

Wanda and Al Coats and Kevin and Lori Coats and Kane and friend Lindsey and Kay Easterling spent Sunday afternoon with family members helping Grant Ward celebrate his third birthday at a party held in one of the parks in The Woodlands. Grant is the oldest son of Lauren and Blaine Ward.

Gause Junior High boys basketball team along with Coach Daniel Minor at tended the A& M-Rice basketball game in College Station on Friday night.

Basketbal l games for the Gause teams get underway this week. Wayne and I are going to have to look at the sports calendars to see which direction to go. Kristi just informed me that there will be times when all four grandchildren will be playing sports act iv it ies at t he same t ime. Guess we can draw straws to see where we will be going.

The sports teams that our Gause high school aged youth play on seem to all be doing well in their activities this season.

The Veterans Day program presented by school students last Monday at the Gause ISD gym was very nice. There was a large number of veterans who were able to attend. Lisa Koenig ran in the inaugural Diaper Dash 5K Saturday, in Rockdale and won overall female and top finisher in her age division with a time of 22 minutes, nine seconds. All proceeds go to benefit the Place of Hope facility for women in Rockdale.

School students have an early out on Tuesday, Nov. 26 for the Thanksgiving Holidays. School resumes on Dec. 2.

Our children and grandchildren, relatives and friends made Wayne and mine’s 50th wedding anniversary a joyous time on Saturday afternoon and evening with a reception at the Gause Baptist Church Family Life Center. It was so nice.
