Vizena

Services for Archie “PeeWee” Vizena, 69, of Lexington will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Tanglewood Baptist Church in Tanglewood with Rev. David Atwood officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Lexington Cemetery.

Mr. Vizena died Monday, Nov. 18, at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.

He was born July 2, 1944, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Abay and Ethel (Willis) Vizena.

Mr. Vizena served for 13 years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, then worked for I.G.C. and the City of Thorndale.

He married Vera Nell Crawford on March 4, 1967, in Christine.

Mr. Vizena attended Tanglewood Baptist Church and was a member of the Lexington Masonic Lodge and a life member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Paninski and Hazel Pawlik.

Survivors are his wife, Nell Vizena of Lexington; two sons, Duane Vizena and wife Selynda of Noack, Jerry Vizena of Dallas; a daughter, Amy Wenzel and husband Chad of Lexington; four grandchildren, Jordyn Vizena, Jake Vizena, Tucker Wenzel and Gage Wenzel; a brother, George Vizena of San Antonio; and two sisters, Nell Connell of Houston, Edna Vizena of San Antonio.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
