Whitmore piano students score high at Sacred Music Festival

Piano students of Dixie Whitmore recently played in a Sacred Music Festival held on the campus of Mary Hardin-Baylor University in Belton.

Those who participated were Brian Blanchard, Geritt Davenport, Ashton Freeman, Abigail Olson, Allyson Page, Alyssa Schuch, Isabel Schuch, Olivia Schuch, Peyton Shuffield, Christopher Tenner and Mary Unnasch.

Each received a superior or excellent rating.

Purpose of the Sacred Music Festival is to encourage young musicians to prepare for service playing and singing in their various churches, nursing homes and community.

Teachers who served as judges this year were Jessye Whitis, Athalie Southard, Jonathan Gary, Connie Wood and Julie Atwood.

The annual event is sponsored by the Central Texas Music Teachers Association of which Mrs. Whitmore is a member.
