Rockdale parade, other area activities postponed a week

The annual Rockdale Christmas parade and several other activities that were to be held Saturday have been postponed due to the possibility of freezing weather conditions forecasted for the area.

The parade, along with the 8th annual Buddy Oney Toy Run, Band Boosters bake sale and other planned activites at Wolf Park and the historical IG&N depot, will all now take place on Dec. 14.

Shirts for the toy run will be available for sale all week.  Contact Charles Starr at 512-540-2561 for more information.

The St. Joseph's Catholic Church Ladies Auxiliary bazaar will still go on as planned on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This event is held inside the church's Educational Building and is not affected by the weather.  They will serve chicken stew, chili, menudo and sandwiches.

Milano's annual Christmas parade and free meal, set to be held Saturday, has also been moved to Dec. 14.

The annual Thorndale Christmas parade that was also to take place on Dec. 7, has been canceled, organizer said and will not be rescheduled.
