First up, the Rockdale Chamber’s “Christmas in the City” in downtown Rockdale.

To get the Christmas spirit grooving, Rockdale Downtown Association is sponsoring a downtown Christmas decorating contest, according to Chris Dyess, RDA president.
“We are trying to encourage as many businesses downtown to decorate in time for the Dec. 7 Christmas festivities,” Dyess said.
Prizes will be awarded, $100 first place, $50 second place and $25 third place. Prizes will be awarded at 6:30 p.m. on December 7, Dyess said. For more information, Dyess can be reached at 512-446-6680.
If you or your organization have a need for a vendor booth at the celebration, Rockdale Chamber of Commerce is looking for vendors for their annual “Christmas in the City” in Downtown Rockdale, according to Chamber secretary Denise Brock.

The Rockdale Band will hold a Bake Sale on Saturday at Antique Queens. They will be selling goodies baked by band members in grades 6-12. Let’s go help our Tiger Bands!
Place of Hope will hold their Christmas Open House on Saturday from 3-5 p.m. Everyone is invited to go and visit and tour their newly remodeled facility. It is stunning!
Also on Saturday, the ladies of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will hold their annual Christmas Bazaar, beginning at 9 a.m. in the educational building on San Gabriel Street.
Raffle tickets are being sold, we have some for sale at The Rockdale Reporter. They will also have door prizes and their famous Chicken Stew, menudo and sandwiches for sale.
Saturday, December 7th is also the 8th annual Buddy Oney Toy Run, sponsored by the Bad to the Bone Riders. It will be held at The Ranch in Rockdale. Registration is at 9 a.m.
Those Bad to the Bone Riders do so much to help Milam County and I am very thankful that we have them!
Tisket A Tasket will hold a Christmas Open House on Saturday, with lots of items to help with your Christmas shopping. Cindy said they will be open late so you can come by after the parade.
Then the fun continues with The Gray Cottage’s Christmas Open House from 6-8:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and visit and enjoy refreshments.
