Milam Jail commended by state inspector

The Milam County Jail has passed its most recent inspection with flying colors and received a letter of commendation from the state.

County Judge Dave Barkemeyer received a letter from Brandon Wood, executive director of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards regarding the Nov. 25 inspection by inspector Fred St. Amant.

Wood said the commission “wishes to acknowledge the excellent work of the Milam County Sheriff’s Office” with a certificate of compliance.

The letter also commended the Milam County Commissioners court for supporting jail operations.
