CAMERON—Funeral services for Josephine Dayne Hayes, 99, of Cameron, were held Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Carl Hudson and Rev. Gary Maroney officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron.

Mrs. Hayes died on Monday, Nov. 25, in a Cameron nursing center.

She was born Aug. 1, 1914, in Cameron to C.C. and Mary (Thompson) Baylor.

Mrs. Hayes graduated from C. H. Yoe High School, was a seamstress in Temple and taught sewing for Houston Independent School District vocational department.

She attended First Baptist Church of Cameron.

Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Oliver “Bill” Hayes; a grandson, Larry Orr Jr.; and three sisters, Marguerite Laywell, Ruby Brady and Bernice Fikes.

Survivors are a son, David W. Hayes and wife Melynda of Brunswick, Georgia; two daughters, Sarah Jo Orr and husband Larry of Richmond, Judith Marie Johnston of Cameron; a sister, Bertha Duncum of Cameron; a sister-in-law, Mary Hayes of Houston; her grandchildren, Kimberly, Cindy, Christopher, Andrew, Jason, Todd, David, Amanda, Susan, Lori, Karen and Bobby; her great-grandchildren, Amy, David, Tiffany, Nicholas, Brandon, Wyatt, Taylor, Jackson, Isobel, Ethan, Emery, Barron, Rivers, Lily, Henry, Oliver, Elliott, Allison, Jeremy, Alicia, Melissa, Tommy, Brandon, Teri, Sierra, Olivia, Darby, Kylie and Julie; and her great-great-grandchildren, Karter, Tristan, Cayden, Leland, Emma, Joshua, Connor, Caleb, Elijah and Josiah.
