Graveside services for Raymond Alvin Talafuse Jr., 68, of Thorndale were held Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, in Pebble Grove Cemetery in Maysfield with Pastor James Brymer officiating.
Mr. Talafuse died Wednesday, Nov. 27, in the Temple V.A. Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 14, 1945, in Rosebud to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Alvin Talafuse Sr.
Mr. Talafuse worked as a cotton manager and gin manager for over 43 years.
He married Veda Bernard on May 27, 1998, in Cameron.
He enjoyed family fish fries, Sunday potluck dinners, gardening, hunting and fishing.
Mr. Talafuse was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a daughter.
Survivors are his wife, Veda Talafuse; two sons; two daughters; and three sisters, Patricia Guthneck, Beverly Sundberg and Wanda Parks; also, 18 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Jeff Pietsch, Rodney Drake, Dan Allison, Jon MacLerron, James Scott and Pat Kelley.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Guthneck and Glen Polusek.
