Thorndale, Milano take their lumps on the road
Milano (2- 4) trailed just 30-22 at the half, but Rogers managed much better shooting in the third and fourth quarters.
Keely LaGrone led the Lady Eagles with nine points. Halle McManess added eight points, with Kelly Wadlingotn and Emily Overall adding seven each.
Alyssa Brooks dished in five points, followed by Tera Arledge with three points and Amber O’Gilvie with two points.
This is just the second game with Milano’s full roster due to the success of the Lady Eagle volleyball team and them reaching the regional tournament.
Before taking off for the Thanksgiving holidays, Milano defeated Cameron on the road Nov. 26 by a score of 52-28.
Wadlington and Brooks led the squad with 13 points each.
O’Gilvie added nine and Overall scored eight (including two 3-point shots).
LaGrone had five and McManess four to round out the Lady Eagles’ scoring.
Milano jumped out to a 22-7 lead after the first quarter and never let up. They led 33-13 at the half.
The Lady Eagles are at the A nderson- Shiro tournament this weekend and then will host North Zulch on Tuesday in their first home game since Nov. 8.
The Thorndale Lady Dogs fell on the road at Schulenburg on Tuesday night 49-20.
Emily Garza led t he L ady Dogs’ (1-4) effort with six points. Jordan Schramm followe d with five points and Kamryn Holder added four points. Cheyenne McWilliams scored three points and Kali Carter added two points.
The Lady Dogs fell to Caldwell on Nov. 25 at Bulldog Gym 35-28. Thorndale led 17-11 at the half, but could not overcome mistakes in the third and fourth quarters.
Skylar Sumner led the way for Thorndale with seven points, followed by Kamryn Holder and Emily Garza w ith six each. Shelbi Schneider had four points, Cheyenne McWilliams three and Kali Carter two.
