Rockdale’s Christmas Roundup ready to serve almost 1,000 individuals this year
Needy families in Rockdale, and throughout Milam County, will get visits from Santa this year thanks to several Christmas cheer programs now underway.
Final day to apply to be served by Christmas Roundup, which brightened the lives of about 1,000 Rockdale-area residents in 2012, was Wednesday, Dec. 4. Full Story

Rockdale’s Strelsky given ‘Making a Difference’ award
AUSTIN—During the Texas Trial Lawyers Association 2013 annual meeting the association presented its Making A Difference Award to Dustin Strelsky, of Rockdale, who at the age of 11 was left in a wheelchair after his family was hit by a drunk driver. Full Story

Thorndale can’t hold on to early 10-0 lead
MOUNTAIN CIT Y—With hopes of harvesting yet another gold crown on the horizon, the Thorndale Bulldogs were prepared to play for a while.

Tommy Standard, president and CEO of Standards Home Health & Hospice, recently donated five medical grade treadmills to Thorndale ISD.
