Gause ISD Christmas program set Thursday

The Gause ISD elementary school students will present their annual Christmas program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 in the school gym. They always perform to a packed house, so come early to get a good seat.

Gause students will be having their Christmas parties this Friday, Dec 20. The junior high students will load up on a bus between 8to 9 a.m. and as in past years, go Christmas caroling around the community that morning. And then an early release at 12:30 p.m. and classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

I apologize that this news item got lost on my desk a week or so ago, but here it is now.

Margie, Kay and Sammy Dibble spent thanksgiving in Grand Prairie with Mike and Marie Dibble and family. While there they toured downtown Dallas and saw the place where JFK was killed. They also went across the new Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Everyone enjoyed the sightseeing trip and their time together.

At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, the Gause United Methodist Church invites you to their Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.

Mary Nell and Travis Neely’s granddaughter, Allison Eoff has made the A& M Consolidated High School soccer team, so the Neely’s have already started planning their 2014 activities. Congratulations to Allison.

Donnie and Maxine McBee had an enjoyable Christmas Get together with their children and families down in the Houston area this past weekend. I asked Maxine if she got lots of gifts and she said yes, lots of gift cards that included places to eat. Sounds like a winner to me.

There will be no basketball games for Gause Junior High teams during the holiday season. First game of the new year will be at 5 p.m. Jan. 9 here in Gause.

There have been a number of kids and teachers sick with the flu this past couple of weeks. Do hope all are well real soon. Those that have it are out of school for a number of days.
