Lighting contest winners listed

Group photo set for 5 p.m. Thursday at Chamber office

Winners in the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce Christmas lighting and decorations contest have been announced.

Judging was Monday and Tuesday evenings, according to Denise Brock, Chamber staffer.

A group photo of all winners will be taken at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Chamber’s rock house headquarters, 1203 West Cameron (US 79).

Certificates will be presented to winners at that time.

Brock listed winners as follows:

Best overall—Dr. John and Jeanne Weed, 2105 Sager.

Lights—Jimmy and Maggie Adams, 706 Middleton.

Yard—(Co winners), Betty Roe, 1406 Murray and Gerald Stephenson, 503 Rice.

Traditional—Tim and Glenda Guthrie, 703 Vogel.

Animated— Glenda Wiley, 1504 Pecos.

Whimsical—Jonathan Hartley, 615 Jackson.

Front door—Judith Matula, 716 Middleton.

Religious—Ralph and Denise Sifuentes.

Most decorated street— Enfield Drive.

Business winner had not been decided as of presstime Wednesday.

COLORING—Brock also listed the results of the Chamber’s Christmas coloring contest as follows: Pre-K and kindergarten 1. Iterrean Mitchell. 2. Criss Ruelas. 3. Angelica Torres. The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
