TISD REWARDED FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY—

Thorndale Independent School District received a $16,940 incentive check from Oncor Energy’s ‘Take A Load Off Program,’ which helps schools save energy and money. The district installed energy efficient air conditioning; lighting and a web based control system throughout the district and expects to save more than $263,000 over the next seven years. TISD entered into an Energy Savings Performance Contract with The Way Companies in 2013. This co-authored program allowed the district to pay for the project with little to no upfront capital solely utilizing the savings generated to pay for it. Way’s Green Solutions Team in conjunction with the TISD board of trustees and administrative staff realizes the benefits of this program and looks forward to years of energy savings, reduced maintenance and costly capital expenditures.
