Two crashes on rural roads

State troopers were called to a pair of accidents on South Milam County rural roads during the past week, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Trooper Joshua Cashan of Falls County was called to a two-vehicle accident at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 9 on 79 east of the Texas 36 intersection in Milano.

He said driver of the truck-tractor rig was Eddie Phillips of Missouri City while Dowie Edwards of Hooks was listed as the driver of the Dodge Ram pickup.

Cashan said there were no injuries and listed damages as moderate to the pickup and minor to the truck rig.

No injuries were reported in a crash at 11:22 p.m. Dec. 10 when a vehicle operated by Vicente Mesa of Houston was in collision with a cow.

Trooper J. C. Adams said vehicle damages were moderate.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
