Underwood

CAMERON— Graveside services for Shirley Rahm Underwood, 86, of Cameron will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, in Houston National Cemetery in Houston.

Mrs. Underwood died Wednesday, Dec. 11, in the Cameron Nursing Home.

She was born March 7, 1927, in Louisville, Kentucky, to John Dewey and Mary Elizabeth (Megowan) Rahm.

Mrs. Underwood was raised in Kosmosdale, Kentucky, and attended the Methodist Church there.

She graduated from Valley High School in Valley Station, Kentucky.

She mar r ied James William Underwood Sr. on Aug. 7, 1946, in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Mrs. Underwood worked as a school secretary with Jef ferson County and was a homemaker.

She came to Cameron in 2004, and became a member of Cameron United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by her husband, James, on Aug. 23, 1988, in Gilmer; also, her parents and an infant brother.

Survivors are her children, Sarah R. Donohoo and husband Clifford of Cameron, Mary Phillips and husband Bill of Rockdale, James Underwood and wife Shirley of Neches, John Underwood and wife Linda of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Laura, David, Anne, Sarah, Lorie, J.W., Jackie, Allison and Logan; 10 great-grandchildren, Kristen, Madison, Brian, Jenna, Zoe, Noah, Breanna, Killian, Kael and Clair; and two great-great-grandchildren, Apryl and Jason.
