Crown Garden Club yule meeting Thursday
Members of the Crown Garden Club will hold their annual Christmas party at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 at the home of Yvonne Yount, president.
Members will bring canned goods for the Rockdale Christian Services food pantry and a gift to exchange. The club recently voted to donate $200 to Christmas Roundup—Peggy Cooke, reporter
Sunshine quilters not meeting this month
Sunshine ‘n Shadows Quilt Guild will not meet this month, according to spokesperson Eddie Davidson. The group will pick things back up next month, when they meet Thursday, Jan. 16 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church fellowship hall. FMI: Davidson, 446-6316.
Germaine Cares plans to help a local family
Germaine Cares Foundat ion, named in honor of the late Germaine Dawson, plans to assist one family with Christmas presents.
TaNisha McKenzie, spokesperson, said the Foundation would like to provide Christmas presents to the children of a family this holiday season and make Christmas a little brighter for that family.

Linwood gardeners hold Christmas meeting
Joy Reagan, Sandy Glaser and Marie Freiling hosted the Christmas meeting of Linwood Acres Garden Club on Dec. 11 in the home of Joy Reagan. Members enjoyed a meal and gift exchange.
Each member also brought a teen gift for Christmas Roundup.
Linwood Acres Garden Club will hold its first meeting of 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8 at Rising Star Baptist Church where Jo Ann and James Bradford will present the program.
Grief support meetings held twice monthly
