Sky Ranch scholarships again available for area young persons

THORNDALE—For the past 10 years Star Creek Ranch in Thorndale, owned by the Sue Gove family, has of fered 30 scholarships per year for Sky Ranch in Van, Texas—and this year is no different. Scholarships are worth $1,000.

“This is a non-denominational Christian camp that teaches leadership skills, along with helping children to cope with everyday challenges,” spokesperson Richard Schneider said.

“ The children chosen will get to spend a week of fun and fellowship. There are a number of water sports to enjoy along with group campf ires, f ield games and learning more about our Lord and Savior. They will also have quiet time to ref lect on what they learned each day,” he said.

Children are asked to write an essay on “How do you show that Jesus leads you.”

“This needs to be in the child’s own words. There is no requirement on length and it can be handwritten or typed. Children ages 6-16 are eligible to attend,” Schneider said.

For more information, contact Richard Schneider at 512- 898-1800, 512-898-2692, 512- 760-8689 or go online at www.skyranch.com to view the camp.

Applications must be submitted by Jan. 15, 2014. “We will not accept any applications after this date,” Schneider said.
