Family matters resumes Jan. 15
Family Matters, a series of information meeting for parents and students, resumes Jan. 15 in the fellowship hall of St. John’s United Methodist Church.
Raymon Puente, organizer, said Anita Anderson of Georgetown will bring the program. She is a gang specialist with the Williamson County Juvenile Probation Office.
“Goals for this presentation include helping us to identify gangs, gang members and how gangs recruit our kids,” Puente said.
“Gang activity is on the rise in several counties around Milam County and we need to become aware of what can happen in our own home town,” he said.
The evening begins with a snack supper at 6 p.m., followed by the program from 6:30 to 7:30, he said.
All local school students and personnel are invited to attend, according to Puente.
