Final turkey winners listed by Chamber

Here are the f inal turkey winners in the annual Christmas giveaway sponsored by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce:

Milano WSC to choose directors in March

The December meeting of the Milano Water Supply Corporation( WSC) directors was held at the corporation’s office on Dec. 10.

Directors called for an election for three board members which will be held at the corporation’s annual meeting on March 18, 2014.

Members may apply for board election by contacting the Milano WSC office in Milano for an application during the month of January, at 512-455-2692 or the intersection of US79/190 and FM 3242.

A complete application must be submitted to the water supply by January 24, 2014.

Directors whose terms expire are Virgil Hurt, Philip Kretzschmar, and Arthur Kelley.

In other business, the directors approved an 11-day holiday schedule for 2014, renewed a CD with Buckholts State Bank, and renewed their accountant’s contract.

Directors scheduled the annual meeting to be held at the property (formerly Charlie Martin Park) in the new shop building. All members are invited to attend and chili dogs, chips, cupcakes, and a drink will be served prior to the 7 p.m. meeting.

Next regular scheduled meeting for the board will be Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at the WSC office.

Trooper called to crash on Thorndale-area road

The Department of Public Safety was called to a one-vehicle crash at 8:38 a.m. Friday on County Road 443, east of FM 486.

Trooper J. C. Adams said driver Lorie Inocencio, 42, of Thorndale was not hurt and listed vehicle damage as “moderate.”
