Chamber members polled on president position for future
‘Can no longer afford’ job vacant 14 months
Rockdale Chamber of Commerce members are in the process of deciding whether they want to keep the position of “president”—vacant for the past 14 months—a mandatory part of their bylaws and constitution.
Members were e-mailed a copy of proposed changes last week and a vote will be taken at the annual Chamber membership meeting Jan. 30. Full Story

It’s a pretty good bet that after Friday night’s contest with Austin Lanier, Rockdale’s pickpocket and layup skills are pretty sharp.

Milam’s jobless rate dips to 6.6%
Texas, U.S. numbers also fall slightly
AUSTIN—Unemployment rates for most of the area saw a decrease for November, according to numbers released by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) on Friday.
Milam County’s November non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was at 6.6 percent, compared with 6.7 in October. Full Story
