Big Blue Band headed to Disneyworld next year
Members of the Rockdale High School “Big Blue Band from Tiger Land” are planning a trip to Walt Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida on June 8-14 and are currently looking for individuals and businesses to help fund the experience.
“ We will be making band trip T- shirts to help promote our trip, identify our students while at Disneyworld and at the same time advertise our sponsors,” RISD director of bands Adrian Acevedo said.
Sponsorships are due in by Feb. 27, Acevedo said, and can be sent in to PO Box 632, Rockdale TX 76567.

TAKS exit level test offered at RHS
Rockdale High School will offer the TAKS Exit Level Exams in March 2013 for Out-of-School (OOS) examinees.
Tests dates are March 3 (ELA), March 4 ( Math), March 5 ( Science) and March 6 (Social Studies), according to RISD testing coordinator Lynnette Guerra.
Individuals who are no longer enrolled in school and who have not previously met minimum expectations on all sections of the TAKS test, but who have met all other graduation requirements, may register to retake the necessary sections(s).
All out-of-school TAKS examinees must complete an online registration process. Out- of-school examinees may register online at http:// www.TexasAssessment.com/ TAKSoos. Registration is open now and will end at 5 p.m. Jan. 10.
All out-of-school TAKS examinees should notify the high school counselors at 512- 430- 6140 of their intent to test.
On the day(s) of testing, examinees should arrive by 8 a.m. and report to the high school office. Examinees must present picture identification, such as a driver’s license, school ID, DPS ID, etc. to test.
Examinees will not be able to take the test(s) without a picture ID.

Wednesday—Chicken fajitas on whole wheat tortillas, burrito.
Thursday— Chili, cornbread, French bread pizza.
Friday—Hot ham and cheese on bun, chicken sandwich, fish sandwich.
Breakfast toast, jelly, fruit, juice and milk daily.
Thursday—Yogurt, sausage patty.
Sub, salad, baked chips, pickle spear, fruit, loaded baked potato graham crackers, carrot and celery sticks, broccoli and milk offered daily.
Tuesday— Chili, cornbread, salad, cheese stick.
Wednesday—Barbecue sausage, baked beans,204526A01bread, macaroni and cheese.
Thursday—Chicken noodle soup, crackers, sweet peas, cookie.
Friday— Cheeseburger, fries, lettuce, tomato, pickles.
