Food pantry gets donations totaling $1,350

The Rockdale Christian Services Food Pantry has recently received a pair of donations, totaling $1,350.

In top photo, RCS receives $600, representing money collected in the offering at the recent Community Thanksgiving Service, sponsored by the Rockdale Ministerial Alliance.

From left, Rev. Russ Willis of Meadowbrook Baptist and Rev. Adam Straznicky of St. John’s United Methodist made the presentation to Gloria Thrasher and Inez Tipp, representing RCS.

Below, Gulf Coast Long Term Care, which operates Winnie L Nursing Home in Cameron, made a $750 presentation.

Rockdale Christian Services operates a food pantry at 224 West Cameron (US 79) open 10 a.m. until noon weekdays.

Donations of non-perishable food items are welcome, especially one-pound bags of rice, pinto beans, macaroni and cheese, canned soups and peanut butter.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
