MHS cheerleaders perform at Orlando’s Capital One Bowl

Five Milano High School cheerleaders performed during the pre-game festivities of the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida on Dec. 31. They were Fallon Ferguson, Nikki Herring, Kelly Wadlington, Miranda Oldham and Emily Morgan. Cheer sponsor Wendy Morgan, along with moms Kim Lenz and Debbie Todd were also on the trip with the girls. Milano ISD students and staff are on vacation until after the new year. Faculty will return on Monday, Jan. 6 for a staff development day. Classes will resume for students at normal times on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Yearbooks for 2014 are now on sale. This year’s theme is “#Life@Milano.” The cost is $25, but will be increasing in January. Order online today at www.balfour.com.

Members of the Milano Volunteer Fire Department have began their annual fund-raiser. Tickets can be purchased from any MVFD member. They are one for $5 for six for $25.

Prizes include: Henry Golden Boy 22 caliber mag., two Taurus Public Defender .45- 410, Henry Golden Boy 22 caliber long rifle, Remington 700 .270, Marlin 336w 30-30, Remington 870 shotgun, H and R Pardner shotgun, Mossberg 817 17 MHR, $100 Academy gift card.

Drawings will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. All prizes received in gift cards. Winners pay sales tax and need not be present to win.

Chad and Sherry Lagrone, Hayleigh and Keely enjoyed a trip to Oklahoma last week to visit with Sherry’s family.

Buck and Mar ie Bakken, Bradley and Hannah spent a few days in the Houston area over the Christmas holidays. They visited with Buck’s mom Robyn and step-dad Chris. They also enjoyed time with Buck’s brother Blaise, sister-in-law Amy and niece Zoey who were visiting from California.

We had a great Christmas week with celebrations in Gause and Milano over the holiday.
