‘Ladies Night Out’ at Meadowbrook Jan. 13

A ‘Ladies Night Out’ event is set for 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 13 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, 1401 Colorado Ave, in Rockdale.

The event will feature speaker Kathy Carlton Willis on the topic “Laughing at the Days to Come.” Tickets are $10 each and available until Jan. 10.

The evening will also include a full meal and prizes.

Family Matters topic gangs next Wednesday

“Gangs” will be the topic for the community- wide Family Matters series at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 in the fellowship hall of St. John’s United Methodist Church. The public is invited and the event is free. A snack supper will be provided.

Anita Anderson of Georgetown will present the program. She is a gang specialist with the Williamson County Juvenile Probation Department.

Presbyterians to host next men’s breakfast

An ecumenical monthly men’s Christian fellowship breakfast is held from 7 until 8 a.m. each second Tuesday, the site rotating between several local churches.

Next breakfast will be Tuesday, Jan. 14 at First Presbyterian Church, 1600 Alcoa Avenue.

“Purpose is Christian fellowship and all men of the Rockdale area are invited,” said Bill Avrett, spokesman.
