Milano JH OAP to perform at contest in Temple next week

The Milano Junior High One-Act P lay g roup w ill perform sf “The Diviners” in district competition on Thursday, Jan. 16 in the Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center at Temple College in Temple. Plays will begin at 2 p.m.

A public performance of the play will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 in the Milano High School c afetor ium. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for senior citizens and students. There will also be a silent auction.

Members of the Milano Volunteer Fire Department have began their annual fund-raiser. Tickets can be purchased from any MVFD member. They are one for $5 or six for $25.

Prizes include: Henry Golden Boy 22 caliber mag., two Taurus Public Defender .45- 410, Henry Golden Boy 22 caliber long rifle, Remington 700 .270, Marlin 336w 30-30, Remington 870 shotgun, H and R Pardner shotgun, Mossberg 817 17 MHR, $100 Academy gift card.

Drawings will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. All prizes received in gift cards. Winners pay sales tax and need not be present to win.

Milano high school and junior high students will have their pictures for the yearbook taken on Thursday, Jan. 16 in the high school gym.

Yearbooks for 2014 are now on sale. This year’s theme is “#Life@Milano.” The cost is $25, but will be increasing in January. Order online today at www.balfour.com.
