Gause Baptist youth group to host fundraiser Sunday

The Gause Baptist Church Youth group will sponsor a fundraiser dinner of ham and trimmings on Sunday, Jan. 26 in the Gause Baptist Church Family Life Center Serving will begin at 11 a.m. and cost is $7 per plate. This includes the meal, drink and dessert. Proceeds will go toward a planned mission trip.

Gause Community Improvement Program will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3 in the community center.

Gause 4-H Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 in the Gause school cafeteria. They will be addressing valentines for Veterans of the area.

The Gause Junior High basketball tournaments last weekend were attended and the games were well played and enjoyable to watch. Calvert boys won first and the Gause Boys A team won second. The Brazos Christian Girls A Team won first and the Gause Girls A team won second. All the teams had great support from individual communities. We congratulate the winners as well as all the youth who participated.

The next home games for the Gause teams will be at 4 p.m. Jan. 30 against Bryan St. Joseph.

Our sincere sympathy to the family of Lilly Mae Clinard. She passed away Wednesday night in the hospital where she had been for several days. Services were held Monday at the Gause Full Gospel Church. Burial was in the family cemetery.

Donnie McBee celebrated his 78th birthday with a day long celebration this past Saturday at his and Maxine’s country home here in Gause. Thirty family members gathered to help him celebrate. They came early and stayed late. Happy birthday, Donnie.
