Noack

Roy T. Noack Sr., 95, of Rockdale died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at his home in Rockdale.

Services were held Monday, Jan. 27, at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Pastor Adam Straznicky officiated.

Mr. Noack was born Sept. 10, 1918, in Winchester to John B. and Willamina (Peter) Noack.

He was a 1936 graduate of Wichita Falls High School.

Mr. Noack was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy Seabee’s where his rank was electrician’s mate first class.

After the military, he worked as business manager for IBEW Local Union 716, then as an international representative of IBEW, serving an area of Texas, traveling to local union offices in the Seventh District, which covered Central Texas and East/ Southeast Texas. Mr. Noack was with IBEW for 76 years.

He married Evelyn Brem Storey on May 20, 1967, in Pasadena.

They have lived in Rockdale the past 36 years.

Mr. Noack worked as Rockdale City Electrical Inspector, owned Noack Construction Co., served on the board of directors at Rockdale Country Club, a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and Rockdale Rotary Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bernice Mills; and two brothers, Norbert Noack and Albert Noack.

Survivors are his wife, Evelyn Noack of Rockdale; their children, Travis B. Noack and wife Cheryl of Granite Shoals, Roy T. Noack Jr. and wife Gail, Tim R. Storey and wife Robin, and William A. “Bill” Storey, all of Rockdale, Kimberly Cross and husband Ray of Pasadena, Terry M. Smith and husband Larry of Friendswood; 17 grandchildren, Donna Hooper, Karen Schramm, Jennifer Shimaitis, Stephanie Davis, Riki Lambright, Michael Cross, Hunter Cross, Michelle Benefield, Melissa Landry, Jason Smith, Amy Ellis Fatheree, JoAnna Ellis, Noel Storey, Daniel Storey, Eric Brem, Diana Storey, William S. Storey.

Also, 20 great-grandchildren Lexie Hooper, Kelsey Garrison, Brandon Noack, Jordan Shimaitis, Avery Nichole Shimaitis, Camry Summers, Sean Michael Summers, Harli Lambright, Laini Lambright, Joseph Lambright, Trevor Jenkins, Trisha Jenkins, Taylor Jenkins, Madison Benefield, Bradley Landry, Brendon Landry, Amber Landry, Ethan Smith, Logan Smith and Mason Fatheree; and two great-great-grandchildren, Cashiana Noack and Gavin Michael Noack.

Pallbearers were Mr. Noack’s grandsons: Brandon Noack, Michael Cross, James Cross, Jason Smith, Ethan Smith, Trevor Jenkins, Taylor Jenkins, Brendon Landry, Daniel Storey, William Storey, Joseph Lambright, Sean Summers.
