Lady Tigers still clinging to playoff spot
Girls knock off Navasota for first time in seven years
Still clinging to a playoff spot, the Rockdale Lady Tigers took a tumble Tuesday night with a 35-29 loss to College Station on the road.
The Lady Tigers slipped into a tie for third with their opponents with a 4-4 mark.
Rockdale is 15-9 overall, while College Station lifts its record to 17-12. Full Story
Tiger playoff hopes are wasting away
Will need some help and some wins to sneak in
Time is running out for the Rockdale Tigers as they attempt to return to the playoffs after a one-year absence.
The Tigers had a chance to make up some ground in the post season race Tuesday evening, but were trimmed by College Station 52-51 in a heartbreaker at Tiger Gymnasium. Full Story
David will play at Navarro next season
Rockdale linebacker James David, who verbally committed to Baylor, will attend Navarro College instead.
National signing day is Wednesday.
Navarro, a two-year college, is located in Corsicana.
The Bulldogs finished 9-3 and played in the Brazos Valley Bowl this past season where they defeated Hinds (Miss.) 34-27. Full Story

Lady Dogs qualify for playoffs for 12th straight year
THORNDALE—The Thorndale Lady Dogs clinched their 12th straight trip to the postseason with a 50-29 win over Granger on the road Friday night.
Shelbi Schneider recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 (3 offense, 8 defense) boards on the night. She also had three steals. Full Story
Milano boys, girls still in the hunt for playoff spots
Tuesday games postponed due to weather
MILANO—Milano came from behind on Saturday to defeat Iola 62-56 at Geneva Paceley Gym. The game was delayed a day due to icy road conditions on Friday.
The win puts the Eagles (5-14, 2-3) in fourth place in the league standings after the first round of district play. Milano will need to win three of their last four games to be in the post-season hunt. Full Story
Alumni baseball game first pitch on Feb. 15
The 6th Annual Tiger Baseball Alumni Scrimmage is back.
This year’s scrimmage will be held on February 15 and will follow the usual format.
There will be two alumni teams and the 2014 vars ity team. Any ex-baseball player of Rockdale High School is invited to play and each team will play two games.
There will also be a home run derby this year. Full Story
