‘Evading’ charged after stop

POLICE REPORT

A 64-year-old Rockdale man was arrested Monday and charged with evading arrest or detention with vehicle after a vehicle and foot chase involving two Rockdale policemen.

Edwin Williams remains in custody in lieu of $1,000 bond.

Lt. J. D. Newlin said after an attempted traffic stop a subject sped away from Officers James Treadway and Sterling Sheppard. The vehicle crashed and the officers captured a suspect on foot.

Other felony arrests during the past seven days were listed as follows:

• Caron Gaines, 36, Rockdale, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), less than one gram, released on $6,000 bond.

• Marjorie Edna Fedor, 46, Rockdale, bond surrender on original charge of prohibited substance in correctional facility, in custody.

• Dustin Ray Creek, 29, Rockdale, probation violation, motion to proceed on original charge of assault family violence, released on $5,000 bond.

ACCIDENT—Police said vehicles operated by Juan Delgadillo-Garcia of Rockdale and Crystal Traverse of Huntsville were in collision at 5:21 p.m. Jan. 29 near the Cameron-Wilcox (US 79-FM 487) intersection. No injuries were reported.

OFFENSES—Newlin said guns and a flat-screen television were taken in a burglary of a Grace Street residence.

CITATIONS—Traffic tickets issued during the week included six each for expired registration and expired MVI sticker, five each for driving while license invalid and failure to maintain financial responsibility, three for no driver’s license and one each for expired driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

SERVICE CALLS— Police logged 137 calls and 90 calls in the 911 system.
