Hinistroza

Funeral services for Paul R. Hinistroza Sr., 68, were held Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. Burial followed in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Pastor Donnie Smith of The Fellowship Round Rock officiated.

Mr. Hinistroza died Thursday, Jan. 30, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

He was born June 19, 1945, in Milam County to Santiago and Oralia (Resendez) Hinostrosa.

Mr. Hinistroza was a lifelong resident of San Gabriel.

He served in the U.S. Navy from May 1965 until his honorable discharge in May 1969.

On Dec. 12, 1967, he married Lupe Perez in Los Angeles, California.

Mr. Hinistroza worked as a dragline operator at Alcoa in Rockdale.

He coached Little League baseball for 37 years.

He helped his brother Jimmy build San Gabriel Evangelical Christian Church, where he was a member.

Mr. Hinistroza served his church as a Sunday school teacher and held Bible classes for the Royal Rangers which was a group of boys.

He was a Thorndale Bulldog and Texas Longhorn fan.

Mr. Hinistroza was preceded in death by a son, Paul Jr., on Feb. 22, 1991; his parents; a sister, Martha Robles; and a brother, Moses Hinostrosa.

Survivors are his wife, Lupe Hinistroza; three sons, Nic Hinistroza and wife Ashley of San Gabriel, Eric Hinistroza and wife Brittnie of Round Rock, Jeff Hinistroza of Thorndale; five brothers, Jimmy Hinistroza and wife Mary of San Gabriel, Noe Hinistroza and wife Margaret of Thorndale, Tony Hinistroza and wife Diane of Thorndale, Felix Hinistroza and wife Ellen of San Gabriel, Michael Hinistroza and wife Maria of Rockdale; five sisters, Sally Espinoza of Temple, Rosa Parker of Granger, Janie Gibbs and Gavino Martinez of Round Rock, Lillian Hinistroza of Thorndale, Lupe Hinistroza of Taylor; eight grandchildren, Kalen Revia and wife Laury, Jordan Hinistroza, Darian Hinistroza, Eric Hinistroza Jr., Caden Hinistroza, Samantha Hinistroza, Justyn Dyer and Clayton Dyer; and a great-grandson, Aiden Revia.
