Catherine B. Jackson, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at West Oak Rehabilitation Center in Austin.

A Rosary/ Vigil was held Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial followed in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Deacon Don Sims officiated.

Mrs. Jackson was born Feb. 1, 1923, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Albert P. and Louise M. (Blosel) Gollery.

She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and attended St. Andrew’s Parochial School in Baltimore.

In 1945, she came to Texas to marry William Floyd Jackson on Dec. 31, 1945 in Crosby.

Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Joseph’s Altar Society.

She had lived in Austin since 2004 in the Edgewood Estates and became a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

Mrs. Jackson stayed at Englewood Estates until moving to West Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Austin.

She enjoyed playing bingo and prayed The Rosary every day.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Jackson; her parents; a sister, Allouise Brown; a brother, Thomas Gollery; and a great-granddaughter, Jenna Eileen Garner.

Surviving are four daughters, Barbara Garner and husband Barkley, Patricia McLerran and husband Randall, all of Austin, Sandy Thomas and husband Randall of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Teresa Jackson Doty of Kerrville; a sister, Bernadette Weiman of Baltimore, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Bret Garner, Brian Garner, Elisa McLerran Folco, Amy McLerran Chapman, Bonnie Leah Thomas, Bailey Jean Thomas and Bevin Belle Thomas; nine great-grandchildren, Kathryn Grace Garner, Kristen Brooke Garner, Jackson Brett Garner, Joshua Dominick Folco, Sophia Noel Folco, Olivia Elizabeth Chapman, Julia Margaret Chapman, Nathan Thomas Garner and Vivian Van Slyke Garner; and a great-great-grandchilddaughter, Evejean Love Garner.

Pallbearers were her grandsons and son-in-laws, Randy McLerran, Bret Garner, Mark Folco, Billy Chapman, Joshua Folco and Jackson Garner.

Honorary pallbearers were Barkley Garner, Sammy Nassour, Paul Doty and Hamilton Thomas.
