Graveside services for Gladys Irene Waldrop, 95, were held Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Hugh Wilson Cemetery in Tanglewood.
Mrs. Waldrop died in Houston on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.
She was born June 17, 1918, in Groesbeck to Thomas C. and Cassie (Downs) Sanders.
She lived her early adult life in Houston, then moved to Denver, Colorado, where she lived for 45 years.
In 2007, she moved to Dallas and then back to Houston.
Mrs. Waldrop worked for American Can Co. in Houston for many years, worked for Continental Can Co. in Denver and was a Homemaker.
She married Carman Celton Waldrop in Houston.
Mrs. Waldrop attended Sagemont Church in Houston and she enjoyed her china painting, making cups, china dolls and other items.
Mrs. Waldrop was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Waldrop; a grandson, Jeff Waldrop; three sisters, Eloise Green, Onzelle Williams and Reba Jones; a brother, Wayman Sanders; and her parents.
Survivors are a son, Keith Waldrop and wife Sandra of Houston; a daughter, Candyce Waldrop of Brighton, Colorado; three grandchildren, Robert Waldrop, April Hooter and Brian Waldrop; and four great-grandchildren, Justin Hooter, Blaine Hooter, Rachel Waldrop and Emily Waldrop.
