Hungry for some Lion pancakes??

Rockdale Noon Lions Club is going to hold their 14th annual Mardi Gras Pancake and Bacon Supper on Tuesday, March 4, at the HD New Salem Clubhouse.

Serving will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for ages 6-12 and children ages 5 and under eat free. Tickets will be available from any Rockdale Noon Lions member and also at the door.

Since the supper is on Fat-Tuesday, there will be a Mardi Gras theme, complete with beads and featuring music by Rockdale High School Jazz Band and Communities in Concert Band.

Come and stay a while for a great meal and awesome entertainment. Also available to-go.

All proceeds will go to the Rockdale Noon Lions Eyesight Program, supporting the children in the Rockdale area.

The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 6525 in Rockdale needs your help.

The ladies are gathering favorite recipes for a new cookbook that will be available in the spring.

“Please share your favorite recipes with us. We want this cookbook to be full of great recipes,” said Rita Johnson, spokesperson.

There are several ways to get your recipes to Rita:

1. Go to http://www.typensave.com/get started/ User name is lavfw6525 and the password is recipe6525. You can enter your recipe yourself.

2. Mail your recipe to: LAVFW, PO Box 186, Rockdale, TX 76567

3. Call Rita at: 512-446- 7695

4. Email to: ritajohnson@hotmail.com. Put LAVFW in the subject line

5. Take your recipe by the VFW on West Cameron in Rockdale.

“Please include your name so we can give you credit for the submission,” Johnson said.

“We look forward to including your best recipes to make the finest cookbook ever!”
