Food preservation workshops set March 19 in Rockdale
Milam County has three Extension Education Clubs that provide educational and social activities for the membership. Recently, Susan Larson of the New Salem EEA Club was recognized as the 2013 Outstanding Member of the Year. She received a plaque for her leadership, volunteer hours and community service contributions to the Milam County EEA. Full Story

County contests, fashion show set for March 3
March 3 is the date set for the County Contest Night at the Chamber of Commerce meeting room in Cameron. 4-Hers wanting to compete in District for the following contests will need to enter the March 3 Contest Roundup Presentations, Share the Fun Contests, and Fashion Show. Gardeners catch up on tomatoes
Tomato grafting was the program topic for the Little River Basin Master Gardener chapter Feb. 19.
LRBMG President Anne Barr shared her knowledge of the newyet old technique gaining interest among home vegetable gardeners.
Master Gardener Rosalie Biar of Thorndale discussed tomato grafting in hopes of producing greater yields of a tasty heirloom variety. Full Story

TMS rabies clinic
THORNDALE—Thorndale Middle School will sponsor its annual rabies clinic 2-5 p.m. March 22 at the Thorndale park pavilion.
Dr. Arlon Graef DVM and his staff from Graef Veterinary Hospital in Taylor will be on hand to administer rabies shots and other shots for dogs and cats. Full Story
