COMMENTS FROM CHERYL
You will have an opportunity to get information on water bath canning, pressure canning, drying, jelly making and pickling. Everyone will have a hands-on opportunity to make a jar of jalapeno jelly to take home. You will also have an opportunity to get the following pressure canners tested by the air pump gauge tester Presto, National (those made by the National Pressure Cooker Company), Magic Seal (sold at Montgomery Ward) and Maid of Honor (sold at Sears). Just bring your lids with pressure gauges to the workshop.
The workshop registration fee is $25 which includes handouts, a jar of jalapeno jelly you will make, lunch and training. Pre-registration is requested by March 12 in order to prepare supplies. If you don’t pre-register we can’t guarantee a place in the class. This same workshop is also available in Brazos County on March 18, Lee County on April 3 and Burleson County on April 9. The “Can Now, Eat Later” workshops are sponsored by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service.
