Lions pancake supper Saturday
The Mi lano Evening Lions Club will hold its annual pancake supper on Saturday, March 1 at the Milano Civic Center. Serving will take place from 5-7 p.m. and cost is $3 for 12 and under and $5 for everyone else. The evening also includes a silent auction and live music from Milano first through fourth grade students, along with Lynn Martin and Burleson County Cowboy Church band “Amazing Grace.”
AWOL—A community outreach event will be held on Saturday, March 1 and it is free of charge. The public is invited to a free home-cooked meal starting at noon at the Milano High School cafeteria and will be provided by “Arms Wide Open in Love” or AWOL.
If you are unable to attend, or know of someone that would not be able to attend because of transportation, the group will be making deliveries. Call Rebecca Telg at 979- 406-2173 and leave a message with your name and number. You will be contacted for directions to your home.
If you are interested in helping, then show up on Saturday. The group will begin cooking and setting up at 8:30 a.m. at the high school cafeteria and would love to see you there. Donations are also being sought, so please call the number above if you’d like to give to this new program.
FLORIDA BOYS— Milano Senior Citizens will hold a gospel singing variety show by the new Florida Boys at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 14 in the Milano Civic Center.
Family group tickets are $15, with other individual tickets at $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Tickets will be available at the door. For more information, call 512-455- 9232 or 512-455-3420.
ATHLETIC BOOSTERS— The Milano Athletic Booster Club will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, March 4 at the baseball concession stand, immediately following the baseball and softball games scheduled for that afternoon. The annual alumni softball tournament hosted by the Milano Athletic Booster Club is scheduled for Saturday, March 22.
VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT— The third annual Knight Family Scholarship volleyball tournament is set for Saturday, April 5 at the MHS gym. Participants will be required to sign in person a medical and liability release form at check in, which will be held from 9-10 a.m. that morning. Games will begin at 10 a.m.
Registration forms may be submitted the day of the event, but T-shirts will not be guaranteed if turned in after March 13. Cost to play is $25 and includes the shirt. If you’d just like a shirt, cost is $15. Teams will be drawn that morning. You must be 18 years or older and graduated to participate. Forms are available on www.milanoisd.net.
