Tejas March 21 reception tickets now on sale

A limited number of advance tickets are now on sale for the Friday, March 21, reception with the Almost Patsy Cline Band at the historic Kay Theatre.

That kicks off the 2014 Tejas Art & Book Festival, which will feature a number of writers in schools and at several downtown venues.

The reception is 6:30 to 11 p.m.

TICKETS—Tickets are priced at $25 per person and are only sold in advance.

They include complimentary wine and appetizers. Old-fashioned popcorn and sodas will be available. Local art student contest winners will be announced.

The Almost Patsy Cline Band— which includes former Rockdale resident Vicki (formerly Allen) Gillespie— features timeless country classics.

The band will also appear at Rockdale Elementary School on Friday.

Reception-goers will get a chance to visit with authors attending the 2014 event.

BIG DAY—March 22, in addition to authors appearing at the city library and I&GN Depot-Museum, there will be a full slate of events at the Kay, including theatrical performances and music concerts and the RDA car and motorcycle show.

The burn ban for Milam County has been lifted. Burning is always prohibited in the county's municipalities.
