None hurt in crash involving ambulance

There were no injuries, but extensive damages, in a two-vehicle collision involving an AMR ambulance in downtown Rockdale Tuesday.

Police listed the ambulance driver as Aaron Leong of Austin and the driver of a pickup also involved as Ryan Walker of Rockdale.

The ambulance was not making a run and did n to contain a patient, police said.

The crash was reported at 1:30 p.m. at the Ackerman Cameron (US 79) intersection.

Thorndale council okays cleanup plan

THORNDALE—City council members in Thorndale, meeting last week, approved a $5,500 budget amendment in an effort directed at cleaning up “unsightly properties” in cases where owners cannot be located.

A lien would be attached to each property for cleanup costs.

The council allowed a city police officer to work off-duty for the THS Prom in April and okayed use of the city park and fields for the annual barbecue cookoff in June.
