More charges in large series of burglaries

POLICE REPORT

Two Rockdale residents were arrested last week in connection with break-ins of storage buildings on Bushdale Road but that could be just the tip of the iceberg, police said.

A third person has now been arrested, a fourth is being sought and more charges have been filed.

“ We believe these incidents are connected to others, stretching down to Giddings and Gonzales,” Lt. J. D. Newlin said.

Steven Rivera and Mikayla Wickens, both 19, have now also been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity. Bond has been raised to $90,000 each.

Alisha Marie Sorrells, 28, of Rockdale, was also charged with engaging in organized criminal activity. She was awaiting magistration.

ARRESTS— Other arrests:

• Danielle Powell, 32, Rockdale, theft with two previous convictions, in custody on $5,000 bond.

• Stephanie Booker, 32, Rockdale, theft ($1,500 to $ 20,000), possession of dangerous drugs, fraudulent prescription of controlled substance, released on $20,000 bond.

• Gerrit Sampson Wheeler,

20, Austin, tampering/ fabricating physical evidence intent to impair, fraudulent use/possession of identifying information, released, $26,000 bond.

• Winston Loy Woolverton, 33, Rockdale, warrant, forgery of financial instrument, probation violation/ criminal non- support, in custody on $15,000 bond.

CRASHES—Traffic accidents during the past week:

• 3: 23 p. m. Ma r ch 12, West Cameron ( US 79)-Bowser, drivers, Marco Valdez of Tomball, Danielle Gary of Austin, David Castillo of Rockdale.

• 4: 45 p. m. Friday, at Rockdale Metals, driver, Jesse Moore of Holland.

• 8:44 a.m. Saturday, US 77 at US 79, drivers Hector Aguilera of Austin and Jason Stock of Rockdale.

• 6 p. m. Sunday, at McCawley Oaks, drivers Eva Miles of Rockdale and unknown driver.

• 8:09 a.m. Tuesday, Ferguson Street, Head Start bus hit low cable line. Driver, William Godfrey of Cameron.
