SHERIFF’S REPORT

A Temple couple was arrested late Thursday at their home and charged in connection with a massive series of thefts at Central Texas Post Offices.

Rockdale and Milano post offices were among those reporting incidents.

According to an investigation by postal inspectors, Charles Hattenbach and Kathryn Hubbert are believed to be connected to incidents in an area ranging from Dallas-Ft. Worth to San Antonio to East Texas to Midland.

According to an affidavit filed in U. S. District Court in Waco, investigators said a pickup truck eventually identified as belonging to the couple was seen near the Gause Post Office near the time of one incident.

Numerous charges are expected to be filed.
