Aiming for their third straight trip to the state tournament, the Milano Eagles took the first step by capturing the district championship Monday at the Cameron Country Club. The Eagles fired in a 362, 30 strokes better than second place Holland. Milano was led by Mik Mader’s 79 for top medalist honors. Derek Walton carded an 83 as runner-up medalist, while Tyde Taylor had a 97 and Alex Martin a 103. The Eagles advance to the regional tournament April 14-15 in Brenham. The team is coached by Dusty Loewe.
