Milano graduate Ashleigh Dykes was a member of the University of Texas at Tyler basketball team that advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA’s Division III national championship tournament. The Patriots lost in the regional semifinals to Thomas-More on Friday in Walla Walla, Wash. UT-Tyler won the ACS tournament, earning them a bid to the D-III tournament. Dykes is a junior mass communications major and played basketball the last two seasons at Iowa Lakes Community College. She is the daughter of Henry Dykes of Milano and a 2011 MHS graduate. She has also been on the Dean’s List the last three years.
