Friendship Baptist hosts ‘Fifth Sunday Singing’

A ‘Fifth Sunday Singing” will be held March 30 at Friendship Baptist Church. The fellowship event will start at 5 p.m. and refreshments will be served at its conclusion. OAP ADVANCES— Congratulations to Milano High School’s One Act Play “A Girl Named Opal” on advancing from zone to district level of competition. The group will perform at district on Thursday at Georgetown Eastview High School.

Zone contest was held March 20 at the Yoe High School Performing Arts Center in Cameron and Milano was one of the two named advancing plays.

Earning awards at zone were: Victoria Garcia, best actress; Travis Gage and Tera Arledge, all-star cast; Keely LaGrone, honorable mention all-star cast; Treyton Steinbecker, Derek Walton, Justin Grimes, Kody Love, Cody Alexander, Junior Gallardo, Shelbi Davenport, Elizabeth Holt and Dakota Steinbecker, ensemble award (a very difficult award to get and not something handed out very often); Christian Grimes, best crew.
